Mary Jane Page

1942 – 2021

 

     Mary Jane Page, 78, of Montrose, died Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. 

     Mary Jane was born September 2, 1942 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Oral and Edna Marilyn McIntosh Murphy. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bobcat” Page on May 22, 1965. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2009. 

     Mary Jane had been employed at Eagle Summit/Optimae in Keokuk and worked as a caregiver for 28 years. 

     Mary Jane was a gardener with a green thumb and grew beautiful flowers. She was an avid yard sale shopper. She loved baking and sharing her creations with others, especially her Christmas candy. In her younger years, Mary Jane was always up for an adventure. Whether it be riding a motorcycle, driving a four wheeler or taking people for rides in the golf cart. As she got older, she dedicated herself to her family, making their house a home and in later years making sure each grandchild and great-grandchild felt special.

     Mary Jane is survived by her children, Tammy Page, Lisa Petty (Chuck), both of Keokuk, Cloyd Page (Renee) of Ft. Madison, IA, Linda Page of Keokuk, Jason Page (Shannon) of Argyle, Patty Hymes (Greg) of Warsaw, Robert Page (Laurie Beth) of Keokuk, John Morton (Sherry) of TX, Lillian Fowlkes (Glenn) of VA, Susan Gribler (Kirk) of Quincy, IL, thirty-seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Marylin Garrels, Linda Shirey (Dan), Vickey Lair (Jerry), Angie Schaller (Rock), Yvonne Dudgeon, David Jr. Phillips (Lora), Carmon Lindsey, Pam Briscoe (Randall), Steve Phillips (Stephanie), Gretchen Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     She was also preceded in death by one son, David Stanley Brown, three grandchildren, David Gaudino, Kevin Kemper and Meechele Page, brothers and sisters, Donna Nelson, Shirley English, Jake Murphy, Butch Murphy, Robin Phillips and Rocky Phillips.  

     A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Vigen Memorial Home with Pastor Donnie Skinner officiating. Services for Mary Jane will be live streamed and may be viewed on our webpage, www.vigenmemorialhome.com. Burial will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery. 

     Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with family meeting with friends at that time. 

     Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
