Donald Leroy Fecht, 86, of Carthage, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at 6:40 AM at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

Don was born January 18, 1935, in Carthage, Illinois, the son of George E. and Emma (Eilers) Fecht.  On July 24, 1962, he was united in marriage to Anita Jane Mann in Keokuk, Iowa.  She preceded him in death in 2019.  He and Anita were active members of the Hancock County Saddle Club.  Don was a member of Immanuel Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churches.  He was a life-long farmer and had hauled grain for twenty years retiring in 2020. 

Don is survived by three children, David (Teena) Fecht of Carthage, Terry Fecht of Quincy, and Steve Fecht of Reno, Nevada; three grandchildren, Deverie, Keaten and Kaylee Fecht; four siblings, Verna Thomas of Fallbrook, California, Roger (Nancy) Fecht of Carthage, Marilyn (Darold) Bruns of Carthage and Herbert (Lorene) Fecht of Carthage; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita; and a brother, Melvin Fecht in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.  Memorials may be directed to the Don Fecht Memorial Ag Scholarship.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
