Alan U. Brinkschroeder

Alan U. Brinkschroeder, 66, of Carthage, passed away at 1:30 PM, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at his home.

 

Alan was born October 12, 1954, the son of Martin and Virginia (Pilkington) Brinkschroeder in Ft. Madison, Iowa.  He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Academy and graduated from Dallas City High School.  He worked for BNSF Railway retiring in 2015.  On July 24, 2004, he was united in marriage to Darlene Sowers.  She survives.  Alan was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Carthage and helped with the sound system.  He was a member of the NRA and Hancock County Gun Club.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping and woodworking.

 

Alan is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Carthage; a stepdaughter, Michelle (Jeremy) Nicol of Carthage; stepson, Mike (Jenni Ferguson) Westcott of Niota; grandson, Kayden Jenkins of Carthage; granddaughter, Destani Westcott of Carthage; three brothers, Vince (Marilyn) Brinkschroeder of Ft. Madison, Wayne Brinkschroeder of Colusa and Kevin (Linda) Brinkschroeder of Niota; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepson, Brad Westcott.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Printy Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established.
