Joseph Leslie “Joe” Brown, 78, of Carthage, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.
Joe was born on February 1, 1942, near Burnside, Illinois, the son of Milerd Leslie and Mary Virginia (Hitz) Brown. He spent his working years logging and working on the family farm with his parents, retiring in 1998. In his free time, Joe enjoyed watching Nascar and wrestling, milking his cows, and making homemade ice cream.
Joe is survived by his life-partner of seventeen years Lillian Graber of Carthage; six siblings: Suzanne (Russell) Ferrell of Hamilton, Illinois, Cherry Shepler of Macomb, Illinois, Jack (Marsha) Brown of Blandinsville, Illinois, Jay (Pam) Brown of Stronghurst, Illinois, Mike (Vickie) Brown of Cathage, Illinois, and Ann (Rodney) Fosdyck of Bowen, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Charles Brown, Melvin “Andy” Brown and Joyce Fooken.
Due to Covid-19, Joe’s life will be celebrated with a private graveside service at Bowen Cemetery in Bowen, Illinois.
