Richard W. "Rick" Van Winkle, 63, of rural Lomax, Illinois, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Rick was born on July 20, 1957 the son of Woodrow Willis and Nedra (Starkey) Van Winkle.

Rick was a 1975 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He was employed by Aldi for 30 years and Tenneco/Champion for 10 years. He also worked for a short time at Heartland Harley Davidson in Burlington, Siemens in Ft. Madison and as a trucker.

Rick loved his granddaughter, Brooklynn Elizabeth Van Winkle. He enjoyed his dogs, his 55 Ford Custom and working out of his shop, Wink’s Shop, specializing in Harley’s and lawn mowers.

Survivors include two children, Katie Van Winkle of LaHarpe and Willis (Miranda) Van Winkle of rural Lomax; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Elizabeth and one sister, Brenda Van Winkle of Webster, Illinois.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Homes.
