Randy K. “R.V.” Vass, 65, of Adrian, Illinois, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the UnityPoint - Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

 

Randy was born on September 4, 1955 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Robert C. and Betty (Deere) Vass. He married Penny Ellefritz. They later divorced.

 

Earlier in life Randy farmed. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.

 

Survivors include two sons, Robert J. (Cassidy) Vass of Adrian and Cory Vass of Niota, Illinois; two grandchildren, Reese and Alex; his father, Robert C. Vass of Adrian; two brothers, Roger (Pauline) Vass of Nauvoo and Mike Vass of Adrian; one sister, Debbie (Mike Boyer) Schmidt of Adrian and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; one brother, Rodney Vass and two sisters, Stephanie Hale and Kathy Woods.

 

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at Schmitz-Banks & Beals where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

 

The funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Schmitz-Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City, Illinois. Friends are encouraged to wear their Cubs attire to the service. Those atten
