Sandra Kay King, 79, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at her home.

Sandra was born on January 8, 1941 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Gertrude Sorenson Smith. On June 14, 1964 she married James D. King in Burlington. He survives.

Sandra enjoyed traveling, playing family card games, dancing, music,  her pets and especially time spent with her grandchildren.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Joyce (Mike) Harper of Macomb, Illinois and Stephanie (Matt) Leis of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Bryan (Deanna) King of Dallas City, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Megan Harper, Blake (Julie) Harper, Taylor (Wesley) Moore, Cody (Alyssa) King, Casey (Chantal) King, Stefanee (Byron) Heater, Holly (Kurt) Ritter and Maggie Peterson and five great-grandchildren, Berlin King, Killian King, Addison Heater, Kyle Heater and Calab Heater.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9 at Banks & Beals with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating. Mask and social distancing are recommended.

 Cremation will be entrusted to Banks & Beals following the service. Burial will be at a later date in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
