Norma J. Kurtz, 84, of Colchester, Illinois, formerly of LaHarpe, Illinois died Saturday, August 8, 2020 at her home.
She was born January 14, 1936 in Stronghurst, Illinois, the daughter of Chester and Doris (Long) Avery. On December 6, 1952 she married Joseph R. Kurtz in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2001.
Mrs Kurtz was born and raised in Stronghurst, Illinois and lived her adult life in LaHarpe. She spent the last five years with her daughter in Colchester. She loved camping, crocheting, going for drives and collecting porcelain dolls.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela (David) Riekeberg of Colchester; five grandchildren including, Terry (Melinda) Lowe, James (Erica) Lowe, Monita McLendon, Shelly Randall and Melissa Sullivan; numerous great-grandchild and one great-great-granddaughter.
Also surviving are her in-laws, Emmalou Melvin, Kenny Kurtz and Karlene Kurtz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and one daughter, Linda Lowe.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Friends may call at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe on Wednesday from 1:00 until 6:00p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
