Frances A. Neff, 86, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of LaHarpe, Illinois, died Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Bickford Assisted Living in Burlington, Iowa.

She was born in LaHarpe, IL, the daughter of Amos and Flo Nelson Bundy. On June 15, 1952 she married Eldon H. Neff. They raised their 5 children in Raritan, Illinois. Six years ago, she and Eldon moved from LaHarpe to Bickford of Burlington. We are grateful for the caring and compassionate staff for their love and support of Frances.

Growing up, Frances worked in her parents’ restaurant and attended LaHarpe schools. She later worked in the parts crib for JI Case and retired in 1987 after 20 years. Upon her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, providing banana bread and pillows to family and friends, and loved giving and receiving hugs. She had been a member of the Raritan Baptist and Lomax Christian Churches.

She is survived by her husband, Eldon Neff, son, Terry (Sheila) Neff of Burlington, Iowa, daughter, Jan (Ron) Kimble of Charlotte, North Carolina, son, Gary Neff of Burlington, Iowa, daughter, Tina (Dan) Baker of Roscoe, Illinois and daughter, Barbara (Mike) Boyle of Montezuma, Iowa. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jamie Kimble, 5 brothers: Julian, Harold, Billie, Amos and James “Dude” Bundy, 5 sisters: Pauline Link, Betty Melvin, Viola Hainline, Edna Furrow and Maycel Gebhardt, and her parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Pastor Maxine Dennison officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Great River Hospice.
