Lloyd E. Feikert

Lloyd E. Feikert, 85, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at his home.

Lloyd was born on July 27, 1934 in Good Hope, Illinois, the son of William E. and Ada McDaniels Feikert. He married Rosamond Shambo on December 23, 1956. She preceded him in death on July 21, 1983. Lloyd married Joyce Stambaugh Steagall on October 13, 1989 in Hancock County. She survives.

Lloyd was a 1952 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He enlisted in the United States Army  on March 3, 1954 and retired April 1, 1974 after 20 years of service. During his time in the  Army he served tours in Korea, Germany and Okinawa. Following his military service he worked as a carpenter, butcher and farmer.

Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising beef cattle. He was a member of the LaHarpe Masonic Lodge #195.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; one daughter, Rosann (Ted) Shutwell of LaHarpe; three step-children, Clayton (Lynita) Stambaugh of Lomax, Illinois, Angela Stambaugh of Framingham, Massachuset and Clinton (Ange) Stambaugh of Lomax; six grandchildren, Willo (Ryan) Quivey, Anna Shutwell, Julie Stambaugh, Brandon Stambaugh, Matt Stambaugh and Jill Stambaugh and two great-grandsons, Shane and Sam.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosamond and eleven siblings.

A private graveside service with Military Rites and Masonic Rites will be held Monday, June 8, 2020 with Robert Tillman officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Ambulance Service or the LaHarpe Fire Department. Memorials may be sent to the Lloyd Fiekert Memorial Fund, c/o Banks & Beals Funeral Home, P.O.
