Margaret Marie Frank

Margaret Marie Frank, 103, of Warsaw, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at her home in Warsaw.

Margaret was born on February 3, 1917, in Warsaw, Illinois, the daughter of Robert F. and Katherine M. (Wiesemann) McMahan. On January 7, 1939, she was united in marriage to R. Wendell Frank at the Concordia Lutheran Church parsonage in Warsaw. He preceded her in death in 1989.

A lifelong resident of Warsaw and member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Margaret faithfully served her church with the Lutheran Ladies AID. She was baptized on May 20, 1917, by Reverend H.W. Rabe and was confirmed on April 13, 1930, by Reverend Rehahn. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1934, and worked during her teenage years at the Katz Club on South 4th Street. After high school she worked as a caretaker for a blind woman. She was also employed in the Osgood Factory office for many years and later worked as a secretary at Carthage College. She finished her working career at Hill Dodge Banking Co., where she retired after twenty years. Wendell and Marge were die-hard Chicago Cubs fans, and would spend six weeks a year in Mesa, Arizona, at the Chicago Cubs Spring Training Camp. She followed all of her grandchildren’s sports, especially basketball. Margaret was a sweet and loving person who lived for her family. When asked for the secret to a long life, she would always respond, “Clean living, three square meals a day, and being strong in your faith.”

Margaret is survived by her daughter Martha Ann (Les) Beeler of Warsaw; four grandchildren: L. Lance Beeler of Morris, Illinois, Michael M. Beeler of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Robert Wendell (Jessie) Frank, III of Blandinsville, Illinois, and Christina K. (Billie) Bavery of Manhattan, Illinois; five great-grandchildren: Kate, Will and Ryan Beeler and Katherine and Madeline Bavery; four nieces and two nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Wendell (1989), her son Robert “Busher” (2019), her daughter Susie (1979), her brother Robert K. McMahan (1999), and her parents.

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020, at Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, Illinois.

Memorials may be directed to Concordia Lutheran Church in Warsaw.
