M. Emogine Howe, 91, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away at 10:20pm Monday, February 3, 2020 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
    She was born December 31, 1928 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Oscar and Effie Jenkins Carter. She married Keith Bowen on December 2, 1946 in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1992. On June 17, 1994 she married Dale Eppley. He died on July 3, 2013. She married Otis “Jerry” Howe on November 16, 2013. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2018.
    Emogine was an avid reader, loved traveling and watching western movies. She enjoyed collecting owl figurines. She was a member of the former Friendship Circle Club.
    Surviving are one son, Marshall (Marina) Bowen of Penza, Russia; one daughter, Charlotte (Paul) Pawlak of Carthage, Illinois; two granddaughters, Melissa (Steve) Minya and Natalie (John) Lappe; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Doc Carter of Richland, WI and one sister, Elaine Grundy of Thayer, IL.
    Emogine was preceded in death by her husbands, and her parents.
    Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 7, 2020 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Friday, from 10:00am until time of services. A memorial fund has been established for the Durham United Methodist Church, LaHarpe Library or the LaHarpe Ambulance Service.
