Donald E. Ford, 82, of Niota, Illinois, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at his home in Niota.

 

He was born on September 1, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the son of Warren E. and Flora (Collins) Ford. 

 

Survivors include one son: Randy L. (Roberta) Ford of Burlington, Iowa; two grandchildren: Brandon Ford and Sara Ford; six great grandchildren; two brothers: Richard Ford and Roger Ford and one sister: Carol Beth Ford Feehan. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Marvin Ford.

 

Donald served in the Army National Guard. He owned Ford Sales and Service in Niota for many years and he later retired as a truck driver. Donald was a member of the Southside Boat Club in Keokuk, Iowa. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and being with his friends.

 

Donald’s body has been entrusted to Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home for cremation.

 

A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Oakland Mills, Iowa.
