Alta Marie Reynolds

Alta Marie Reynolds, 93, of Warsaw, passed away at 3:18 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Keokuk Area Hospital.

 

Alta was born April 28, 1929, the daughter of Francis Michael and Laura Ellen (Alberts) Ward in St. Louis, Missouri.  On June 13, 1966, she was united in marriage to William James Reynolds.  He preceded her in death in 2021.  Alta had worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store for many years where she got to know many people.  She never met a stranger and she became known as “Grandma” to everyone.  She was of the Catholic faith.

 

Alta is survived by her children, William James “Bill” Reynolds, Jr. of Decatur, Illinois, Elizabeth Lowman and Grayland Bigelow, both of Keokuk, and Ernie (Beth) Bigelow of Eureka, Illinois; grandchildren, Bradley and Steven Reynold, Patricia Householder, Anthony and Tiffiny Atterberg, Samantha Robertson, Jake Bishop, Christopher, Kimberly, Lee and Brandon Bigelow and Windi Wierather; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; a son, Kenneth Bigelow; and siblings, Mary, Ruth and John Johnson, Frances Smith, Laura Zavala, and George and Joseph Ward.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Keokuk National Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of Charity or All Saints Catholic Church.  Printy Funeral Home of Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
