Donald "Don" Rex Boley

Donald “Don” Rex Boley, Jr., 56, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Don was born on September 13, 1964, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Donald Rex, Sr. and Charlotte (Leffler) Boley. He attended Warsaw High School and was united in marriage to Kendra Plowman on June 18, 1983, in Warsaw, Illinois. She survives.

Don worked at JB Automatic in Hamilton as a machinist for twenty-five years before his employment in maintenance at Midwest Manufacturing for the last several years. He owned and operated DJ’s Bar and Grill in Warsaw and could often be found visiting with everyone who came through the door. Don never met a stranger and had a friendly personality. He always found a way to stay busy, and was often building, tinkering, or fixing his dad’s old Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His friends and family could always depend on Don to be there if they needed anything. When he did find a free moment to himself, Don enjoyed hunting, but most of all he loved spending his time riding his Harley with his wife or fishing with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Don is survived by his wife Kendra Boley of Hamilton; his son Donnie (Kayla) Boley of Hamilton; his daughter Jenny (Curtis) Knapp of Springfield, Illinois; five grandchildren: Benton, Kamden and Sutton Boley and Emma and Elliott Knapp; four siblings: Dona (Oscar) Francis of Keokuk, Terry (Dana) Levarn of Cape Coral, Florida, Ronnie “Rowdy” (Penny) Boley of Hamilton, and Lonnie “Dee” (Tina) Boley of Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Pultz and his nephew Steve Francis.

Don’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 10 am on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw. For those unable to attend, the service will be available for livestreaming via Facebook Live at the Printy Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 to 8 pm on Thursday, with family meeting friends from 4 to 8 pm. For the safety of those attending, masks and social distancing are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hamilton Park District, Warsaw Lions Club, and the Warsaw public library.

Tributes and condolences may be left at www.printyfuneralhome.com
