Ronald Dean Bennett

Ronald Dean Bennett, 63, of Carthage, Illinois, formerly of Terre Haute, Illinois passed away at 6:54 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

 

Ronald was born on June 30, 1957 in LaHarpe the son of Leland W. and Lois E. (Palmer) Bennett. On June 16, 1979 he married Jerilyn Fox at the Terre Haute United Methodist Church.

 

Ronald loved his family and was there anytime they needed him. He worked at Deery Brothers in Burlington, Iowa, for the past 32 years and was currently the Fixed Operations Manager. He was known for doing anything for his customers. Ronald enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, cars and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jerilyn, one daughter, Brianne (Scott) Skien of Carthage; two sons, Brett (Robin) Bennett of O’Fallon, Missouri and Braden Bennett of Carthage; five grandchildren, Gavin and Madison Skien and Brandt, Bristol and Brue Bennett; three sisters, Linda Bennett of Burlington, Iowa, Gloria Harmony of Tampa, Florida, Brenda Collins of Valrico, Florida.

 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Bennett.

 

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2020 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Jeff Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the Terre Haute Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the LaHarpe Christian Church.
